Become an eHub Taxi Driver

Are you eligible to become an e Hub Driver?

To qualify to be a new taxi driver, you must meet all of the following:

  • Have held a Sri Lanka Driver Licence for a total of at least 12 months in the previous two years.
  • Be at least 20 years old.
  • Be medically fit to drive a passenger transport vehicle

If you meet these requirements, your next steps are:

  • Install e Hub App in your mobile phone
  • Complete an Application to become a Driver App & submit related information using your phone

We need the following information from you:

  • Driving Licence
  • Revenue Licence
  • Current Driving Licence
  • Vehicle registration document
  • Valid vehicle insurance including – Passenger hiring
  • One of the following 4 forms of identification required
  • National Identity Card
  • Letter from Bank to identify the address

Safety standards of the Vehicle

Vehicle registration:

  • The vehicle must be appropriately registered and safe to be driven on the road.
  • Vehicle need to have registration inspections even if the vehicle is less than 5 years old.
  • Vehicle insurance
  • The taxi must be covered by a valid insurance policy for

Maintenance and repairs:

  • Vehicles must be regularly maintained, consistent with the manufacturer’s recommendations and any maintenance and repairs (excluding minor repairs) must be performed by a qualified mechanic.
  • Basic maintenance such as oil changes, spark plug replacements and tyre changes do not need to be carried out by a mechanic.
  • Records of all maintenance and repairs carried out on a vehicle should also be kept.
  • An easy way to stay on top of things is by keeping a maintenance schedule that allows all of the information to be kept in one place.
